Basic Pistol Course
Prerequisite
An open mind and a desire to become comfortable and competent around firearms. There is no need to own a gun at this point. The instructor will supply guns for training. If considering a purchase, you will be much more competent as to what to buy and why.
Objectives
- Learn the nomenclature of a handgun
- Learn muzzle management and trigger finger control (Safety issues)
- Learn how to field strip a firearm for cleaning and inspection
- Learn proper sight alignment and sight picture
- Learn safety protocols (Safety is paramount)
- Learn the many differences between firearms and limitations and tradeoffs with any particular design
- Learn what will suit your needs and desires best for your intended applications
- Learn how to clear malfunctions: Failure to feed, failure to eject, stovepipe, failure to fire
- A few hours at the range using your knowledge and learning some basic marksmanship (Live fire)

Private sessions or group sessions ( 10 people Maximum)
Cost…$200 for each person.

On-going classes, private training to be determined… Call for details and schedule.
THE FIRST DAY WILL BE CLASSROOM…. NO LIVE AMMO ALLOWED ON PROPERTY!!!
The second day will be a live fire at the COSSA RANGE
Range Day
Dress for the weather and bring water and food. The COSSA RANGE is not near any convenience stores.
The class will go on regardless of the weather.
Level One Self-Defense
Prerequisite
- Holster for firearm and firearm.
- 400 rounds of ammo.
- Water and food for range day. COSSA is not near any convenience stores.
- Dress for the weather Class will be held regardless of the weather.
Objectives
- Proper presentation from holster (5 steps)
- Balance of speed and precision
- Defensive accuracy
- Home Defense simulation
- Jacking simulation
- Movement with shooting
- Awareness training
- Proper reload techniques for self-defense
- Multiple Live fire drills (9 am to 6 pm approximately) At COSSA RANGE
